24 November, 2017

Each holiday season, we work extra hard to encourage community members to shift more of their holiday spending from chain and online giants to locally owned businesses.  To make this message even stronger, in 2017 we’re leading a statewide partnership to promote this year’s Shift Your Shopping campaign.  It’s all part of a grassroots movement to support job creation and economic growth right here at home.

Join us for Plaid Friday Seacoast!

Plan to wear PLAID all day on November 24!
Choose local, explore our neighborhoods, get connected, try some fun deals
Share your adventures with #PlaidFriday

Seacoast Local’s Plaid Friday celebrates the diversity and creativity of local and independent business. It’s a fun and enjoyable alternative to the big-box-store “Black Friday” consumer frenzy, and kicks off holiday shopping in local neighborhoods. It’s also a way to show your support for Seacoast Local — a network of locally owned businesses, organizations, and citizens working to build a stronger local economy. Read all about it in the New Hampshire Union Leader and Seacoast Media Group

Indie businesses can use Plaid Friday Seacoast posters and social media graphics to remind people to eat, drink, and shop local throughout the holidays. Why not offer something fun on that day, beverages, music, discounts? You decide! Connect with your customers and let them know you will be open on November 24.

Friends and neighbors can find out what’s going on at your own local and independent business on Nov. 24 using #PlaidFriday.

Most importantly, have fun!
